Introduction
Set within a private 64-acre working estate and developed around a charming 1926 planter’s bungalow, Rosyth now offers 10 individually designed rooms and suites, including the luxurious two-bedroom Rock Villa.
Location
Just two hours from Colombo Airport, the estate is ideally located at the beginning, middle, or end of a round-trip itinerary. Perfectly Positioned Near Kandy: Just over an hour away lies the sacred city of Kandy, home to the Temple of the Tooth and vibrant cultural traditions. Rosyth is also ideally placed for guests wishing to experience the iconic highland train journey—one of the world’s most scenic rail experiences. Begin or end your rail adventure from nearby Kandy Station and avoid the long transfers from Ella or Nuwara Eliya.

Weather
The temperature during the day varies between 25 and 35 degrees and cools down in the evening. The humidity is less than the coastal areas which results in a very comfortable overall climate. In the evening at certain times of year, the temperature occasionally drops to point where you may consider needing a light sweater or wrap.

Tea Suite Bed Type: Four Poster Super King + day bed Situated on the upper floor, this is the larger of the two suites accessed by an internal staircase opening up into a small sitting room with a day bed. The bedroom is accessed through double doors from the sitting area & has a four poster bed. Folding patio doors open up on to large outdoor terrace / living area with views to the front elevation. Banyan Suite Bed Type: Four Poster King + day bed This junior suite accessed by its own front door. When sold with the Rock Suite it interconnects through the living room. The large bedroom is furnished with colonial style furniture including an imposing antique four poster king size bed, plus a day bed. Cinnamon Bed Type: Four Poster Super King, Extra Child Bed Adjacent to the main house and accessed by its own entrance from the rear courtyard. The room has a a large open plan shower room with double wash basins. A curtain gives the privacy from the bathroom. The room has a door accessing a private garden terrace above the pool shaded by bougainvillea. This room is suitable for a person in a wheelchair traveling with a career. Lime Bed Type: Twin / Super King Situated at the Lower Garden Terrance one level below the pool terrace, this is the lower room of an interconnecting duplex unit, with its own ground level entrance. The bed has two mattresses which can be made up as twin with adjacent single mattresses or as a super king. The sofa bed can be turned into 2 further single beds. Coconut Bed Type: Four Poster Super King This room is the upper part of the duplex unit, located at the Pool Garden Terrace level. With a super king size four poster bed, the day bed can also be made up into an additional bed. The room opens up onto a private balcony with uninterrupted views over the estate’s lush vegetation towards the rubber fields at the rear of the property. The bathroom has a walk-in shower and double washbasins and has a curtain to give privacy from the bedroom. Cardamon & Palm Bed Type: King Sized, Twin Created by combing the Cardamom room with the Palm room which is perfect for children or can be configured as a private air-conditioned sitting room with views of the front lawn. The Lobby has further patio doors onto the front veranda. When booked for a family it provides a cost- effective family option with two bedrooms which interconnect and share Cardamom’s bathroom. If the other classic rooms are booked, we may be able to offer Cardamom only as a classic King room.
