Tea estate bungalow and separate annex in a spectacular mountain setting nestling under the high pass and quaint railway station of Idalgashinna. The bungalow has a living room with open fireplace and a dining room; both have bay windows overlooking the lawn towards the panoramic views of the south. There are two double ensuite bedrooms; one of the bedrooms also has a set of bunkbeds. The Library Suite annex was completed in Spring 2020. Sleeping two the suite is self-contained and sits adjacent to the main bungalow. Comprising a large studio bedroom, bathroom, dressing room and dining terrance it is furnished throughout with French antiques. It may be rented separately or together with the bungalow.

Bungalow: The bungalow has two ensuite bedrooms. One has a double bed. The other has a double bed plus a set of bunk beds for children. There is also a small third bedroom with a single bed suitable for children; it has access to its own toilet but for a full bathroom needs to use the ensuite of the double bedroom. The maximum occupancy is therefore 4 adults plus 3 children.
Library Suite: Located in the gardens of the Haldummulla Estate Bungalow, the Library Suite is a stylish addition to the accommodation at Haldummulla Estate. Simply but elegantly furnished with French antiques, the self-contained suite has a king-size double bed in a spacious, book-lined, open-plan living area with an open fire, a dressing room and a large bathroom. There is a daybed in the dressing room which may be occupied by a child. The large veranda has breathtaking views across to the Southern Plains and has a dining table for al fresco eating.

Transport can be arranged for both inward and outward journeys as well as for excusions during the stay. (extra cost)
The Estate comes with staff to look after you. They perform all the housekeeping as well as preparing your meals. Breakfast, luch, dinner and afternoon tea are included in the rate. Note that the Estate is not licenced for alcohol sales but BYO is welcome. No corkage.

Booking Inquiry
Terms and Conditions
- If your booking is made more than 30 days prior to the arrival date, a non-refundable deposit of 25% of the booking value or 1 night’s rental, whichever is greater, is required to secure the booking.
- Until such time as the deposit is paid we will be unable to guarantee the booking on your behalf
- If you book your stay within 30 days of your arrival date, you are required to pay the full price of the property rental unless otherwise advised.
- After paying the deposit; should you fail to pay the balance when due, we reserve the right to cancel the booking subject to our cancellation charges. LankaRealEstate.com (Pvt) Ltd (hereafter referred to as Lanka Real Estate) will not be held responsible for your failure to do so.
- You may be asked to pay a cash security deposit on arrival at the property. The deposit is security against any damages or charges that may arise during your stay. The maximum amount of the deposit will be equal to one day’s rent. You will be advised in advance if a damage deposit is required.
- The number of guests in your party staying at the property must be clearly stated at the time of booking and must not exceed this during the period of the rental. We reserve the right, to refuse entry to your party, and/or terminate the rental without prior notice should this occur.
- Unreasonably noisy or poorly behaved guests may be asked to leave the property without reimbursement at the discretion of Lanka Real Estate.
Bookings and Payment
- Payments are to be made in US Dollars. A pre-agreed exchange rate must be made with Lanka Real Estate for payments in other currencies. We are unable to accept credit card bookings.
- All payments due must be made in full.
- Any bank charges relating to the transfer of funds must be borne by the person making the booking, and not by Lanka Real Estate.
- For all payments you will be sent our company bank details.
Cancellation Policy
- Cancellation must be made in writing by email to bookings@lankarealestate.com
- No show is subject to forfeiture of all payments you have made.
- Should you cancel your booking for whatever reason your deposit is non-refundable. Any balance payment will be returned to you unless the cancellation was made within 30 days of the check-in date. We strongly advise you to ensure that your stay is covered by appropriate travel insurance with cancellation cover. We will not be held liable for any losses due to you being uninsured or under insured.
- In the very unlikely event that we need to cancel your booking prior to the date of your arrival, you
will be entitled to a full refund of all monies paid.
