Sri Lanks Tourism wins the prestigious The Best Stand Award at the World Travel Market London, in November 2024

This prestigious award, one of the travel industry’s most respected honors, was presented to Sri Lanka Tourism for its outstanding and immersive presence at the event, which attracted significant attention among hundreds of international exhibitors.

Winning this award is a testament to the island’s growing prominence in the global travel landscape. Buddhika Hewawasam, Chairman of Sri Lanka Tourism, praised the win, saying: “Winning the Best Stand Award at WTM London is a testament to the dedication and creativity of our industry partners and the team at Sri Lanka Tourism. Among the key highlights of Sri Lanka’s Winning Stand at WTM London 2024 were, the stand’s design reflecting Sri Lanka’s multifaceted appeal, from its serene beaches and abundant wildlife to its cultural landmarks and wellness retreats. Showcasing the island’s unique blend of tradition and innovation, offering visitors a sensory journey through its rich cultural heritage, stunning natural beauty, and innovative new offerings like the Pekoe Trail.

Business to business networking sessions where Sri Lanka’s tourism industry partners engaged directly with global decision-makers, tour operators, and travel journalists, helping to strengthen relationships and foster future business collaborations. The stand also featured live cultural performances, interactive digital experiences, and authentic Sri Lankan flavors to provide visitors with a real taste of the island’s essence.
